Roadmap
We publish this roadmap because customers deserve transparency about where we’re heading. Items under Committed are funded and scheduled. Items under Likely are planned but may slip. Exploring is for research and feedback.
Committed (Q2 2026)
- HIPAA BAA. Complete SOC 2 Type I, then BAA signing. Unblocks healthcare customers on our managed plan.
- EU data residency.
eu-west-1region for the API + Supabase instance. Contract available to Enterprise customers. - SSO (SAML + OIDC). Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace as identity providers. Enterprise only.
- Voice analytics 2.0. Sentiment detection on transcripts, topic clustering, conversion funnel tracking.
- ClickHouse adapter. For high-cardinality analytics data.
- Elastic / OpenSearch adapter. For search-heavy use cases.
Likely (Q3 2026)
- Audio recording (opt-in). Stored for customer playback / QA. Off by default, on with a second privacy notice.
- Voice cloning integration. When OpenAI (or a credible alternative) exposes a Realtime-compatible voice cloning API.
- Android SDK. Native Kotlin SDK for apps that want voice inside the app, not only the web.
- iOS SDK. Same for Swift.
- Multi-language sessions. One session that seamlessly switches language based on visitor input.
- Programmatic adapter config via API. Create / update data connections without the dashboard.
Exploring
- On-prem deployment. A fully air-gapped Spelo for regulated industries (defense, government, some financial). Not yet prototyped.
- Non-voice input. Text chat as a fallback when voice is denied or in loud environments.
- Outbound voice. AI calls your customer back (appointment reminders, survey calls). Requires a PSTN / Twilio integration layer.
- Agent handoff. Mid-session transfer from AI to a human rep via Zendesk / Intercom / Front.
- Voice-first editor. Let your customer’s visitors dictate long-form content into your text fields.
- Federated learning. Customers opt in to contributing anonymized transcripts to improve the pronunciation dictionary globally.
- Custom voice cloning marketplace. Hire voice actors to produce branded voices; Spelo brokers.
Requested by customers (public backlog)
- Vue 2 compatibility. We don’t officially support it; no demand from paid customers yet.
- AMP-compatible script. Google AMP disallows third-party scripts on AMP pages. No path.
- Custom orb shapes. Beyond circle (pill, square). Low priority — the circle is the brand.
- Mid-session prompt change. Swap the system prompt based on page context without restarting. Technically possible; scoping the UX is the hard part.
How to influence the roadmap
- Thumbs-up on GitHub issues at github.com/spelo/spelo/issues. Weight is by count, not by volume of comments.
- Enterprise customers get a direct line — your account manager can escalate.
- Office hours — we host 1-hour customer Q&A on the second Wednesday of each month. Enterprise customers are invited; Pro customers on request.
